ABB celebrates 100th anniversary of Swedish Research Center in the presence of Sweden’s King Carl XVI Gustaf

ABB celebrated the 100th anniversary of its Swedish Research Center in Vasteras, Sweden, in the presence of the King of Sweden, Carl XVI Gustaf, ABB CEO, Ulrich Spiesshofer, Swedish Energy Minister, Ibrahim Baylan, and other national and local dignitaries. Some of ABBs groundbreaking innovations such as the first industrial robots controlled by microprocessors, which kick-ed the modern industrial robotics era, and the first high voltage direct current circuit breaker were developed in the center. To mark the centenary, ABB inaugurated its new growth hub SynerLeap, which focuses on digitalizing industry. More than 200 guests attended the event.
